Privacy Suit Dropped At Hilton’s Request

A privacy lawsuit against a Panama-based Internet company from socialite Paris Hilton has been dismissed by a Los Angeles judge at her request – but Hilton reportedly reserved the right to re-file the suit.

Her target had been Kahatani, a Panama City company which distributed her notorious sex video before Red Light District Video bought the rights from her former boyfriend, Rick Salomon, in April.

Earlier this week, reports that Red Light District had agreed to pay Hilton $400,000 and a percentage of sales for the tape, which Red Light markets as 1 Night In Paris, were confirmed by AVN.com as false reports. Another report earlier this week suggested Hilton would give anything she earns from the video to charity.

The Simple Life star's attorney, Heather McCloskey, told reporters July 13 that the heiress had not yet decided whether she actually would re-file litigation against Kahatani. The action she wanted dropped sought a reported $30 million.

Salomon has dropped his own slander suit against the Hilton family.
