President Bush Looking Into Possible Supreme Court Picks

With speculation increasing that the long-ailing Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court William Rehnquist will soon be announcing his retirement, several media outlets have reported that President George Bush has been actively looking at possible court nominees.

White House spokesman Scott McClellan has said that Bush is seeking judges with a “conservative judicial philosophy.”

"The president is going to continue to move forward on appointing individuals who have a conservative judicial philosophy and believe in interpreting the law, not making law from the bench," McClellan indicated.

Speculation is that Rehnquist may step down as early as June. It is widely-believed that any Bush nominee with have to agree with the president’s pro-life agenda.
