Adult entertainment stars are wanted to help fulfill a UFO cult's prophecy that the end of the world comes July 2 by participating in "a bizarre religious ceremony" in upstate New York, according to the group's website.
The Church of the SubGenius is headed by J.R. (Bob) Dobbs, who has predicted a fleet of UFOs arriving to destroy the international conspiracy against the church. The ceremony is set for the presumed final hours, with all ordained ministers purportedly to be rescued by escape vessels piloted by what they call "alien sex goddesses," or Xists.
The group hasn't said precisely which adult stars they hope to attract to the clothing-optional gathering at the Brushwood Folklore Center, an annual gathering, the group continued.
"The Church is seeking performers and producers from the adult entertainment industry in particular, because sexual freedom has been an important part of Church doctrine from the start," the group said in an official release. "In addition, a similarity exists between the logo of "XXX-Day" and the well-known "XXX" rating for adult-oriented and pornographic movies. XXX-Day will be a celebration of pornography and adult entertainment, and events taking place at the event will be limited to adults only."
Not only that, but the general public isn't invited, either - only ordained members of the church are allowed, though they're accepting new membership rates for those who want to join and be at the ceremonial days starting June 28. However, no one will be required to perform, not even the porn stars invited.
"The event can be seen as a weekend of rest and relaxation for anyone to spend a fun-filled weekend in an unusual setting," they said. "Audience participation, however, is encouraged."
