NEW YORK—Bust, a neo-feminist magazine that prides itself on “BUSTing stereotypes about women since 1993," did a piece in the “Sex Files” section of its August/September issue about “non-gross porn guys,” as the cover describes them.
Xander Corvus, James Deen and Keni Styles are the male porn stars recommended in the piece by contributor Ashley St. Ives. The author states that many women don’t like porn because of some of the men in it, whom she refers to as “greasy, jacked-up guys with juvenile tattoos, weird necklaces and frosted hair.”
While her concept of current male performers seems a bit outdated (cough, cough ... AVN Male Performer of the Year Manuel Ferrara, anyone?), St. Ives recommends a few titles as good selections for viewing Corvus, Deen and Styles in action.
BurningAngel’s Librarians gets the nod for featuring Keni Styles in the company of “alt-porn queen” Joanna Angel. BA’s critical favorite Joanna Angel & James Deen’s Summer Vacation is featured as well for having Deen and Styles in the cast.
