Porn Star Turned Republican Poster Boy Exposed

Matt Sanchez's status as a rising star in right wing activism took a nosedive Tuesday, March 5, when it was revealed the Marine Corps reservist was a former porn star who performed under the name Rod Majors. He also worked as an escort.

Sanchez, 36, is now a junior at Columbia University. His altercation with a campus leftist group became the launching pad for appearances on right wing talk shows Hannity & Colmes and The O'Reilly Factor. He was presented with the Jeanne Kirkpatrick Academic Freedom Award at the annual Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) on Friday, March 2, posing for photos with right wing diva Ann Coulter.

As Rod Majors, Sanchez performed in titles such as Jawbreaker (Catalina Video, 1995), Every Body Does It (Tenderloin Productions, 1995), Hardbody Video Magazine 5 (Men of Odyssey, 1995), Idol Country (HIS Video, 1994), Montreal Men (Kristen Bjorn, 1992), Power Trip (Studio 2000, 1995), and Tijuana Toilet Tramps (Stallion Video, 1994) among the 35 listed at www.bijouworld.com. He also performed under the name Pierre LaBranche.

In an interview with Kristen Bjorn, Majors (Sanchez) is quoted saying, "I don't think I ever would have classified porno movies as a 'major interest.' It was something that was accessible to me and allowed me to do other things." He also admitted, "I have pretty much done it all sexually," when asked if there was a sexual fantasy he still wanted to fulfill. The interview is available at www.kristenbjorn.com.

As an escort, Sanchez billed himself as an "excellent top" and provided numerous photos with his head partially obscured or cropped out on his website.

The revelation has been ricocheting around the Internet with gay and political blogs weighing in with comments. Joemygod.blogspot.com — which helped break the story — opined that "the right-wing has gobbled up this porn hunk with a spoon, never knowing that tons of men have gobbled up his monster cock on film."

The Huffington Post seized upon the former gay porn star turned right wing poster child to lambaste Ann Coulter for her morally suspect careerism and the right's hypocritical stance on "family values." Coulter faces continued criticism, both from the left and the right, over calling John Edwards a "faggot" at the CPAC conference on Thursday, with newspapers around the country canceling her column.

Sanchez has promised to post a response on his personal blog later today, which features a photo of Coulter from the CPAC three-day event.
