– An official here wants to know how government Websites in this northeastern state came up with porn links. He says he suspected civil servants might have been involved because the sites were too well protected from outside interference, according to the BBC.
This official, Kegunzulo Medhikhru of the National Informatics Centre, told the BBC the authorities here were caught off guard by the porn links, being more used to such scandals as embezzlement and nepotism.
The porn links have been removed, but the government wants to know who on the inside could have pulled the stunt, since the Websites' firewalls were strong enough to keep outside hackers from breaking in and wreaking havoc. The NIC is a federal body linking state governments to India's federal ministries online, the BBC says.
