Playboy.com the Latest to Add NATS

Too Much Media, the developers of the popular back-end affiliate program administration software Next-generation Administration and Tracking System (NATS), has signed a deal with Playboy.

The venerable Adult institution was in need of a system to manage their online partnership deals and the NATS software came strongly recommended.

“We didn’t look a lot of places – it came with a very, very strong reference of upstanding people with good software,” Scott Stephen, the executive vice president of operations for Playboy Entertainment, told AVNOnline.com.

“We’re taking on more and more partners. We’re delivering more and more traffic to our offerings too. We needed a sophisticated system to track that, so our partners would be paid accordingly and so that there wouldn’t be any shaving or shenanigans going on. We’re honest businessmen and we need to have high-standards for our solutions. That appears to be the case right now.”

The deal was hammered out in three months, with Playboy’s executives doing extensive research on Too Much and its software. In the end, they seem to have drawn the same conclusion as a bevy of other industry affiliate program owners. This week alone, both BrainCash and SammySmack have announced the addition of NATS to their redesigned affiliate programs.

“NATS has decent functionality. You can track the lifetime value of a customer by affiliate and by partner and really see what the value of that traffic is and if you’re paying the right bounties or doing the right revenue shares,” Stephen said.

Although Too Much Media has been rapidly adding new customers over the past couple of months, the addition of the Playboy name and brand carries a little something extra.

“It’s a feather in our cap and we’re very excited about working with them,” said Charles Berrebbi, a partner in Too Much Media.

Playboy.com has already deployed the NATS software, but the company’s mainstream partners will not be integrated with the system until January.

As for NATS, the software is constantly evolving. At the beginning of January, Too Much Media will introduce Account Admin, a feature that works like the Windows-based Stats Remote – checking the stats for all of the affiliate programs of which the user is part. Account Admin will be part of the NATS system and will be free for affiliates and program owners.
