LOS ANGELES — Playboy TV is celebrating its 25th year on the air with a succession of parties in 10 cities across the U.S. throughout the coming summer.
Launched in November 1982, Playboy TV has grown to reach 63 million homes domestically and over 70 countries across Europe, Latin America and Asia. It helped pave the way for subscription and on-demand programming, and has served up a wide array of fare over the years, including reality shows, international travelogues and Playboy behind-the-scenes offerings.
"At its launch, Playboy TV provided the viewer with a unique and provocative format," said Bob Meyers, president of media for Playboy Enterprises, Inc. "It has been at the forefront of TV programming trends, which includes producing one of the first reality series, and the channel continues to evolve in response to cultural trends as evidenced by our 'Playboy Prime' short-format block."
