Playboy and French magazine publisher 1633SA have reached an agreement to expand wireless content distribution to Spain and Portugal. 1633SA, Playboy’s French distributor, will offer Playboy content through mobile devices in the countries.
Wireless customers will be able to download Playboy wallpapers, photos, video clips, MMS content and games.
“We are thrilled with the success of our wireless service in France and the results we have seen give us the confidence to roll out this service to Spain and Portugal,” said Randy Nicolau, president of Playboy Online. “We believe there is a huge opportunity in the wireless arena and we will continue to focus our efforts on international expansion.”
By adding Spain and Portugal, Playboy has expanded its global wireless reach to 15 countries, including Germany, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Hong Kong, Australia and Brazil.
The company is planning to announce a wireless distribution deal in the United States by the end of the year.
1633SA currently distributes wireless Playboy content in France and publishes both the French edition of Playboy magazine and the Web site Playboy.fr.
