Playboy: Damn, that DMX Can Do Everything

Playboy Home Video is the latest adult entertainment company to combine beautiful women and music by bringing together some of the biggest names in Hip-Hop and rock along with a bevy of gorgeous Playmates and Playboy models for their new DVD/home video release Playboy's Hip Hop & Rock: Platinum Bad Boys Become Playboy Photographers.

Set to hit stores on April 8, this new release features exclusive behind-the-scenes footage of top-selling Hip-Hop artists Ja Rule, Xzibit, Nelly, DMX, along with rock stars Tommy Lee, Bret Michaels, Korn's Jonathan Davis and Disturbed's David Draiman, as they photographed a stunning array of Playboy Playmates and Playboy models.

"The combination of some of the biggest stars in the music business along with the Playboy brand, lifestyle and, of course, Playmates, is one that has unlimited potential," said Barry Leshtz, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Playboy Worldwide Home Video. "By bridging the worlds of popular music and adult entertainment, Playboy Home Video is well-positioned to satisfy traditional Playboy fans as well as reach new audiences."

The release also features hit songs from the artists themselves, synced to the video footage of the their photo shoots. Songs include: "Hola, Hola" and "Always on time" by Ja Rule, "Multiply" and "Symphony in X Major" by Xzibit, "Party Up" and "Ruff Ryders Anthem" by DMX, "Here To Stay" by Korn, and "Prayer" by Disturbed.

"These were real photo shoots we had the musicians do. It was originally a Playboy.com concept, but we looked at the footage and realized we could turn it into something bigger," Frank Marchesini, publicity manager for Playboy, told AVN.com.

If things work well for this title, Playboy anticipates creating a series with similar subject matter, possibly with Playboy branded music videos that will feature Playmates and popular musicians.

Playboy's Hip Hop & Rock: Platinum Bad Boys Become Playboy Photographers features Playmates Nicole Narain (Jan. 2002), Christi Shake (May 2002), Michele Rogers (June 2002), Vivid Girl Deven Davis (Jonathan Davis' fianc'e ), Cyber Girls Gina Patrone and Carolee Bass, and Special Editions Models Heather Phelps & Kori Adams.

The title will be available at most music retailers as well as adult retailers. Playboy intends to promote the title heavily to the music sector with a print ad campaign in major magazines.
