Playboy Club and Manse Clone Headed to Macau

MACAU—China may have a big problem with internet porn but it still loves the bunny. Casino operator Sands China announced Thursday a licensing deal with Playboy for two projects planned for Macao, Asia’s gambling Mecca.

“Playboy Club Macao will open by the end of the year, a 12,000-square-foot entertainment area at the top of Sands Macao casino,” reported the Associated Press. “The club will have private entertainment and media rooms, gaming rooms and a lounge for which Playboy Clubs are known.”

A clone of the famous Playboy Manse in Los Angeles will be constructed on Macao's Cotai Strip. “The 30,000-square-foot Playboy Mansion Macao … will have bars, lounges, [a] nightclub, gaming and retail stores,” said the AP. The Mansion is slated to open in the first quarter of 2012.

Macau is one of two special administrative regions in the People’s Republic of China. The other is Hong Kong.

Sands China is a unit of Las Vegas Sands Corp.
