Planning Begins for Skylar Neil Memorial Charity Golf

Planning is underway for the 10th annual Skylar Neil Memorial Charity Golf Tournament and Auction (www.skylarneil.org), founded and hosted by Vince Neil, the former Motley Crüe lead singer. The event is scheduled for the first week of May 2006 at a location yet to be determined.

For the 2006 Charity Golf Tournament and Auction, the Skylar Neil Foundation is again seeking corporate contributions of products and services from the adult entertainment industry for both live and silent auctions.

The 2005 star-studded Skylar Neil event raised over $100,000 for cancer, leukemia and AIDS research thanks to contributing companies as Seymore Butts Productions, Red Light District, Hustler Hollywood, Pure Play Media, Exotic Dancer Publications, Jay Turser Guitars, ESP Guitars, ZROCK.com, CAO Cigars, Jägermeister, Rock Star Energy Drinks, and Anheuser Busch. Described by one golfer as “Where the PGA meets Caligula,” a bevy of adult starlets and performers greeted golfers at each tee with free autographed DVDs and pictures, adult novelty items, tee shirts, caps, cigars, and cocktails.

In 1995, Neil, lead vocalist of Motley Crüe, lost his daughter Skylar to stomach cancer. Since that time he has endeavored to help raise awareness and much needed funding for children's illnesses. The Skylar Neil Memorial Foundation has donated nearly a million dollars to various charity organizations for cancer, leukemia and AIDS research, and neurogenetic disorders such as autism, Down Syndrome and Williams Syndrome. All of the proceeds from The Skylar Neil Memorial Charity Golf Tournament and Auction are given to these charities.

Items and experiences auctioned off during the 2005 Skylar Neil Charity Event included autographed electric guitars from Metallica, Megadeth, Franz Ferdinand, The Killers, and Motley Crue, an expense-paid weekend for two to the 13th Annual Gentlemen's Club Owners Expo, an all expense-paid trip to Europe, a Seymore Butts’ xXxposed Entertainment Party Bus event, and also from Showtime’s "Family Business," a day on the set with Cousin Stevie and a day on the set with adult actress Brittney Skye. Production companies and distributors, including Pure Play Media, Seymore Butts, Red Light District and others also provided countless complimentary DVD titles, as well as adult novelties and products, as premium items for attendees.

Additionally, adult starlets and performers are encouraged to schedule appearances for autograph signings and photo events.

Skylar Neil Foundation publicist Christopher Buttner will be attending, and available for meetings, during the 2006 AVN Adult Entertainment Expo January 5-7 in Las Vegas. Companies and personalities interested in participating in the event should contact Buttner at [email protected].
