Pjur Sponsors 'Men Without Suits'

Personal lubricant giant Pjur has become the exclusive lubricant sponsor of the Museum of Sex's newest exhibition, "Men Without Suits: Objectifying the American Male Body."

The exhibit, on view through January 2006 at New York City's Museum of Sex, "provides a valuable historical context for naked-male imagery," according to the press release announcing the sponsorship.

Beginning with a projection of Michelangelo’s David, the chronological arrangement includes a video installation of gay pornographic movies, examples of “beefcake” photography from the 1950s and '60s, and other images from artists and photographers over the centuries.

Founded by Daniel Gluck in 2002, the Museum of Sex's purpose is "to preserve and present the history, evolution, and cultural significance of human sexuality. It is committed to open discourse and exchange and to bringing to the public the best in current scholarship in its exhibitions, programs, and publications." John E. Vollmer is the exhibit's curator.
