After a year being shown in 70 U.S. and international film festivals and winning five "best documentary" awards, That Man: Peter Berlin, the story of the 1970s gay sex-icon, will be available on DVD on June 13.

With his trademark Dutchboy haircut and oh-so-tight trousers, Berlin was the poster boy for the hedonistic and sexually liberated 1970s. Director Jim Tushinski’s documentary traces Berlin’s story over the past 40 years from his birth in wartime Germany to his current life in San Francisco.

Artist/ model/ photographer/ porngod Berlin's best-known '70s movie, That Boy, transferred to DVD last year to coincide with the documentary's theatrical screenings, won the Best Classic DVD trophy at this year's GAYVN Awards.

Produced by Tushinski and Lawrence Helman, That Man includes interviews with such notables as director John Waters, author Armistead Maupin, adult film legend Jack Wrangler, filmmaker Wakefield Poole, artist Robert W. Richards and others, as well as with Berlin himself. (He is in his early 60s.)

Accompanying the interviews are photos and film clips that reveal the full scope of Berlin’s impressive body of work.
