Performer Brandon Iron writes to clarify some rumors circulating about himself:
"No, I was not deported; however, the outcome seems eerily similar to being tossed out. Here is what happened. I flew to Canada from LA to visit my family. At the airport on the way back, a Customs Officer had the audacity to inquire why a Canadian citizen was flying back to Los Angeles. [Instead of being smart and buying a round-trip ticket from Canada, I opted for the riskier route of breezing through Customs like I have done on many occasions.] The end result? I was held off my flight and had to pay $95 for an immigration hearing. I was paroled into the US for 10 days. Now I'm sitting at a friend's computer here in Vancouver typing this lament, a tear rolling down my cheek as I think of the Harley Raines bukake gig that happened Wednesday night without my "input".
The good news is that I have not broken any serious laws and can re-enter as a visitor. My preference, however, is to try to obtain a work visa and quit living like a wandering Bedouin in the desert.
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
Brandon
