Penthouse Opens Second Store in Hartford

Penthouse has opened another retail store in the capital of Connecticut, Hartford. The second of of its retail stores opened on Oct. 27, 2005, and owners say it has a similar atmosphere to its pioneer store in Milford, Connecticut.

The opening of the store was celebrated with a party, complete with appearances by three Penthouse Pets and popular starlet Tera Patrick. Patrick and the Pets autographed photos and posters for a large crowd of fans.

“There was a line around the corner,” said Penthouse Boutique CEO Dan Quinn. “There was just as much excitement about the opening of this store, as there was about the opening of the original store.” Both Quinn and new Penthouse owner Marc Bell were on hand for the opening celebration, as well. This is the first Penthouse store to be opened under Bell’s ownership (the first store was opened under Bob Guccione).

“It has the same kind of layout as the other store,” Quinn told AVN.com. “There needs to be a building level of comfort, so the stuff at the front of the store is very soft, and it slowly progresses to the harder, couple-oriented stuff at the back of the store.”

The Penthouse store carries anything from women’s clothing and lingerie to novelties and DVDs, as well as a special bachelorette section.

“It’s a great store with a really great, well-trained staff,” said Quinn.

The Penthouse store (860-729-5589) is located at 151 West Service Road, in Hartford, Conn.
