Penthouse Club to Open in New Orleans

Penthouse magazine, in association with American Restaurant Inc., is opening the doors to its newest gentlemen’s club at 6 p.m. on March 1 in New Orleans. The club, which is off of Bourbon Street, will be replacing the former Gold Club Cabaret.

This is the first Penthouse licensing venture for American Restaurant Inc., but Chief Operating Partner Mark Allen is not a newcomer to the industry. Allen owns and operates two other Louisiana men’s establishments, one in Baton Rouge, La., and one in Port Allen. He feels that the globally recognized Penthouse name will give him a competitive edge in the adult-dominated, New Orleans market.

“After six months of 18 hour-days, which included working rescue missions and the gutting and remodeling of our 200 year-old building, we are bringing the French Quarter the highest level of Adult Entertainment,” Allen said.

“And although the elegance is unsurpassed, [we] will welcome everyone. The whole experience has proven to me that there really is a silver-lining at the end of every storm and we’re truly excited about being a Penthouse club. The hard work has paid off and we’re looking forward to being on the cutting edge of the industry and setting a new standard for excellence.”

“Penthouse is proud to be playing even the slightest role in the post-Katrina resurgence of “The Big Easy,” said Jeff Stoller, the Penthouse director of global club licensing, “and we’re doubly proud to have collaborated with a dedicated partner the likes of American Restaurant Inc.”

“At present, there is an historic significance to opening a new business in New Orleans and there are humanistic and capitalistic factors to consider as well. We’re fortunate that despite the odds, our revitalization efforts have been positive because of A.R.I.”

To commemorate the grand opening of the new Penthouse establishment, Penthouse will have four Penthouse Pets on hand to celebrate, including Jamie Lynn, Charlie Laine, Jennifer Emerson and Krista Ayne.

The new gentlemen’s club will be located at 727 Iberville Street, in New Orleans.
