Pennsylvania Strip Club Proponents Lose Appeal

A county court has rejected an appeal by proponents of a strip club who said they were unfairly denied a business permit in Pittston Township.

The Luzerne County Court of Common Pleas last week upheld the Township’s decision not to grant a business permit to Ingot Real Estate Co. which planned to operate a strip club along Armstrong Road, the Times Leader reported.

Judge Mark Ciavarella heard brief arguments in the case last week before throwing out the appeal.

Ingot had submitted an application for the club which would have required patrons to bring their own alcohol to the facility which featured nude dancing.

Local residents also became involved through their attorney Randall Wenger who argued that the club would increase crime and attract prostitutes to the community.

Ingot’s attorney, Charles Shaffer would not comment.
