Yesterday about 4:45 pm, Sharon Mitchell reportedly called AVN's Ken Michaels saying she and FSC were going to sue Greg Zeboray for potential damages to AIM and the FSC, in which Zeboray involves Free Speech in his alleged slander of Sharon, both in a private e-mails and on Luke Ford's website.
Mitchell: "It wasn't me and FSC. I have nothing to do with FSC. It looks like we've [me and AIM] gathered enough evidence, and I'm going to proceed with a lawsuit for slanderous, libelous material and tort against Greg Zeboray. This is a pretty ugly one. This is something I'm not pleased about, but if you had seen anything of the faxing that went out - four or five different people called me up [with information]. He [Zeboray] apparently had this one slanderous fax which he e-mailed to people. It was very damaging. 'Sharon and AIM Must Be Stopped' was the title of it. It was very slanderous. I didn't know about it until I had been losing some donors [money people], and I knew it was because of Greg. It just sounded like Greg's words coming out of their mouths. His feelings were very hurt when he decided not to make him the AIM insurance agent. I had my own reasons for doing this. They were based on business, and some personal. I had some past experience with Greg in the Free Speech Coalition, and it was just - I kind of had the opinion that Greg's a little bit of a shit stirrer to begin with."
Gloria Leonard, president of the Free Speech Coalition, says that any news about a pending Zeboray lawsuit was news to her. "I didn't even know about this. This is the first I've heard of this. I know that there's some bad blood there. And I've told this to Sharon's face. I felt that because Greg worked so hard in trying to establish insurance for our industry, and had been so supportive of Sharon and the industry - his website contained all of her shit at one time - that she went and she engaged another insurance person to handle insurance over at her office. I frankly told her that smacked to me of being disloyal and ungrateful. She had at least owed him [Zeboray] the courtesy of discussing it with him before she went ahead and did such a thing.
"He's [Zeboray] got this vendetta-thing going toward her, the way I perceived it, anway. He thought it was bad, bad, bad. And I know that he had presented a letter at one of our board meetings that somehow wound up in AVN's hands which I thought was very inappropriate. I called him on it. I said, you know, one of the basic tenets of the board meetings is that anything we discuss there is not to leave that room. I see that you have sent this to AVN. He e-mails me back and tells me that, because he's not on the board, because he's not an employee, that he's not bound by the same by-laws and regulations as the rest of us which is bullshit. I think this whole thing got blown out of proportion at some point. I think it's a personal thing that Greg has with Sharon. As far as I personally know? We're not engaged in a lawsuit. I known that Sharon's really unhappy with him and it's certainly possible that she's taken some kind of action.
"Between you and me, I'm thinking about finding out if this little thing yesterday [on the Luke Ford website] with FSC is actionable. I've been so nice to that asshole [Ford]. I've given him endless tidbits and stories and corrected him when he was wrong. To go and do something like that is unconscionable. I'm through with him. He's a fucking asshole."
Zeboray, who just resigned his position as the Free Speech Coalition insurance coordinator, had this to say: "I can't wait to be served. Let me tell you something. I have never made it a secret that I personally consider Sharon Mitchell a pathological liar. This is what I got yesterday, and I'm going to give her an opportunity to prove to me that she's not. She sent me a letter, and there's no question in my mind that an attorney wrote this letter. This is legal writing. It couldn't have come from her. I'm paraphrasing it. It says, 'we have in our possession copies of numerous materials purportedly generated and made available to others. This material is both slanderous and libelous and contains serious misrepresentation.'
Zeboray: "Now is her [Mitchell's] chance to put up or shut up. I want her to show you and Ken Michaels, not Mark Kernes, these items - not faxed - these items, these numerous materials. I want to see where they are slanderous, libelous, I want to see the misrepresentation so she could prove that she's right. I also want proof, generated and made available to others, that it came from me. If she cannot provide all that stuff for you to review, and I'm being very truthful, I think it should be totally discounted. The only thing I have ever released - and I'm going to identify the two things - was an e-mail that I sent Paul Fishbein which everybody is well familiar with by now. I faxed a copy of an item, not the item, but only the signatures, to Bill Margold for him to tell me whose signatures those were.
"Those are the only two items that I either faxed or e-mailed out. Now is the time for her to prove that I'm a liar. I want her to lay it down in front of you so you could out it up there that Greg Zeboray's a liar. If, in fact, those items are not produced for you to review, and the proof that I sent them, and the proof that people received them are not provided to you, then I think that should bring into question her credibility. She's welcome to sue me at any time. It would be her biggest mistake she ever made. I made a phone call to her attorney this morning. He wouldn't take my calls. I've been in business for many years. I document everything I do. Trust me, there's nothing she can sue me on."
