CHATSWORTH, Calif. - SexZ Pictures exclusive Paulina James is the subject of a new video documentary, Being Paulina in Japan, Tokyo.
James shot the video herself during a February 2007 trip to Japan with performer Bree Olson. Editor Dominic Acerra assembled the footage as a 63-minute featurette.
"When I first found out I was going to Tokyo for nine days, I was so excited," James told AVN. "On the second day of being in Japan, I went out and bought my own video camera and started shooting everything I could possibly shoot, from being on set to being outdoors and experiencing Tokyo itself. It was a lot of fun."
Being Paulina centers on James, Olson and their Japanese liaison Momo, who brought the pair of porn starlets to Tokyo to shoot for local adult content producers. The girls are seen shopping, visiting a Buddhist shrine and touring the city.
"Momo is pretty well-known out here in L.A.," James said. "Jenna Haze, Sunny Lane and Courtney Cummz all went out to Tokyo and shot for him. He treated us like queens; it was very comfortable. We felt like we were at home, only in a different lifestyle."
"It’s like a day in the life stretched over 10 days," Acerra said. "The interesting thing is the dynamics between the three people. We looked at this as a way of letting fans know what [porn stars] are really like; one of the things I like about what we do in editorial is that we get to meet the performers as people, rather than a quick BTS clip or something. Paulina and Bree are people like anybody else – most people don’t understand that. I always get asked, what are they really like?"
Being Paulina will screen at the Los Angeles Erotica Film Fest, scheduled for Sept. 15-16 at the Knitting Factory in Hollywood.
