LAS VEGAS - Paradise Visuals and distributor Anabolic have set a Sept. 10 street date for the new special edition DVD of the infamous celebrity porn video John Wayne Bobbitt Uncut and its rarely seen sequel, Frankenpenis.
Bobbitt made headlines in 1993 when his wife Lorena responded to his alleged infidelity, rape and spousal abuse by cutting off his penis with a carving knife while he slept. Lorena fled the scene with the severed cock in hand and eventually tossed it out the window of her car. Police managed to find the stump in a field, and John Wayne Bobbitt's manhood was reattached by surgeons.
The outrageous story made John Wayne Bobbitt an instant tabloid celebrity and regular Howard Stern guest. He cashed in on the notoriety with a bid to become a porn star.
Originally released in 1994 by Leisure Time, John Wayne Bobbitt Uncut was directed by Ron Jeremy and features cameos by Motley Crue's Vince Neil and Motorhead's Lemmy. The movie won AVN's Best-Selling and Best-Renting awards in 1995 and remained the top-selling adult video until it was surpassed by the Pamela Anderson/Tommy Lee' sex tape. Paradise Visuals acquired the exclusive rights to the movie last year.
Looking to build on the success of his first porn, Bobbitt underwent a controversial procedure to enlarge his penis. This highly publicized stunt led to the 1996 sequel Frankenpenis, which featured an early performance from Tabitha Stevens and included a cameo from Law and Order SVU star and legendary rapper Ice-T.
Based on previous sales, Paradise Visuals and Anabolic believe the new disc will place among the year's best-selling classic porn DVDs.
The Uncut/Frankenpenis DVD ships Sept. 3 and hits stores Sept 10. To order, contact Dan M at (818) 407-6200 ext. 228 or [email protected].
