Paperback Dames

Bud Lee directs Bridgett Kerkove in the first of her new series of features for Leisure Time. It's called Paperback Dames and Kerkove was in the middle of giving John Decker when we caught up with Lee.

Lee: "The story's about a guy whose father has passed away and he's cleaning out his father's desk. His dad was a pulp fiction magazine writer. He's finding stories that were never published and he's reading them. As he reads them, they come up at a distance in the room- out of blackness they appear. The characters start taking over the dialogue. One scene takes place ina boudoir it features Rene Larue, Elzabeth X and Joel Lawrence. It's a really stylized type of thing. All of the sets have no walls, really. It's like a play and how in plays they bring up lights and lower lights. We're doing sort of the same thing. Lot of dolly moves, things like that.

"Later on Bridgett, Tina Cheri and Xena are going to do a girl-girl-girl scene. What happens is the guy reads four stories and his girlfriend comes to visit him and he's horny. He fucks his girlfriend on his father's desk. They leave to get something to eat and in a big, overhead shot, the girls walk out of the blackness and into the office and toast the man that created them.

"It's a movie that George Kaplan put together originally with Michael Ninn. It was seven-scene thing, but Michael decided not to go for it. He started doing that Diva series instead. I read it once, kind of liked it, then I saw it still in the inventory one day and snatched it up. I went ahead and bought it. I was going to make it some time and ended up making it for Leisure Time.

"Michael Kovacs [from Leisure Time] had a good discussion at CES and between what I do, and how I do things and how they want things done, it's kind of a learning experience for me. It should be a lot of fun. Of course my relationship with Playboy is something else that they wanted to be able take advantage of. I think it will work out pretty decently.
