PORNFIGHTERS TRAINING CRIMEFIGHTERS?

They refused the blame for litigation over The Tin Drum, but anti-porn group Oklahomans for Children and Families has sponsored police training twice - including for officers who took part in a film roundup later deemed unconstitutional, says The Oklahoman.

And the relationship was part of a civil trial in federal court last month. A federal judge has not just ruled the roundup unconstitutional but also ruled The Tin Drum was not pornographic.

The Oklahoman says the city council paid a $400,000 settlement to video dealers who sued Oklahoma City for confiscating their copies of the film. District Attorney Bob Macy's office also agreed to pay $175,000 in tax dollars to the dealers, the paper reports.

Last March, a then-member of the city council, Eric Groves, argued Oklahomans for Children and Families pay the settlement because its leader filed the opening film complaint with police. The leader, Bob Anderson, turned that idea down. He said the group was "out of the loop" after filing the complaint, The Oklahoman says.
