Oprah and the Great O Magazine Controversy

and-desist demand of Oprah Winfrey's new magazine, O.

The German O has sent a letter to Hearst Communications Inc., which publishes Oprah's magazine, demanding it "immediately cease and desist from any further advertisement, promotion or marketing" of the magazine. The German O claims trademark infringement and adds that the slick, glossy sex and domination magazine has been distributed in the United States since 1988. The magazine said it might file suit against Hearst seeking "injunctive relief, damages, attorneys' fees and costs." Hearst hasn't commented on the issue.
