LOS ANGELES—The first ever Erotikos Film Festival will take place Sept. 15-22 at the Hedonism Resort II in Negril, Jamaica, and while all of the nominated films will be screened at the festival, Erotikos will also be hosting a winners induction event at the Erotic Heritage Museum in Las Vegas on October 13, 2012, which will serve as both a preview of the festival itself and a kick-off of the event.
Dr. Ava Cadell, Evolved Novelties' resident sexpert and founder of Loveology University, has been tapped to judge the festival films in competition, and will also be conducting a seminar on erotic toy play at the event in Jamaica. The company gave away Red Ruby Crystal personal massagers in the 50 gift bags that were given out at a festival kick-off party in late July, as well as supplying a large gift basket of erotic goodies that was raffled off at the event.
“It’s so important to celebrate human sexuality, and the cinema does a wonderful job of capturing our senses,” Cadell said. “Nancy has pulled together an excellent slate of films that really stimulate emotionally and physically. It’s going to be an incredible, unique event.”
The Erotikos Film Festival is the brainchild of Nancy Sutton-Pierce who is deeply passionate about erotic cinema. She has been working tirelessly to create this one-of a-kind event which boasts films from over twelve countries including feature films, shorts and music videos that are titillating and artful, celebrating human sensuality and sexuality. The festival’s grand finale will present the much-anticipated final film from Zalman King (9 ½ Weeks, Wild Orchid) titled Pleasure or Pain. This is the first time that Pleasure or Pain will be screened in a public forum, and Sutton-Pierce will also be doing a tribute to King during the awards show.
“The community we cater to at Evolved is very much interested in sensuality, and exploring their own pleasure,” said Marcus West, marketing director at Evolved Novelties. “This festival is a great fit for us, and a great way to introduce our products to an audience of film goers that connect with our sensibility.”
