Only one day left before the September 30 cutoff date for AVN Awards nominations consideration.
The deadline is threefold: movies must be released and on the street; screeners must be delivered to AVN's offices; and pre-nominations must be posted on AVN's pre-nom website.
Heidi Pike-Johnson, AVN Senior Associate Editor, told AVN.com, "There's not a lot of time left to access the nominations site and send screeners in, so production companies that have been waiting to do this should really get started.
"We will not be accepting nom lists that are emailed, faxed or thrown in boxes with screeners this year, so if companies want to make nominations recommendations to AVN's editorial staff, they need to email me right away."
The 22nd annual AVN Awards show will be held January 8, 2005 at the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas. Nominations will be announced in November.
To be considered for a nomination, a production must have been released between October 1, 2003 and September 30, 2004. By the last day of September, a title must be in the hands of a minimum of 10 wholesale distributors or 100 retail outlets.
Starting this year, producers are required to enter their pre-nominations themselves on a new AVN pre-noms Website. Producers or performers who wish to make pre-noms and still have not accessed the site should email Pike-Johnson at [email protected]. She will give them a user name and password. The site is not available to the general public.
Producers also are reminded to provide the magazine with two copies of each title or scene they would like to be considered for nominations, as well as sample materials used in marketing campaigns if seeking consideration in those categories. AVN greatly prefers that such titles be submitted in the DVD format. A list of the AVN Awards categories can be found at the end of this article.
