LOS ANGELES—It’s been just five years since respected director Red Ezra shot the first Blu Dreams all-girl solo saga for Cal Vista Video, scoring an AVN Editor’s Choice in the process—and it’s a truism in porn that nothing succeeds (again) like (a prior) success.
But with Ezra having apparently ridden off into the porno sunset, Metro has tapped actress/director/screenwriter Melissa Monet, an old friend of Ezra’s, to reenliven the Blu Dreams franchise with another collection of hot women pleasuring themselves in sometimes odd settings and landscapes.
“The original one definitely was fantasy-based, but it was fairly simplistic; no thread, no plot, but all the scenes had relatively the same look about them,” Monet told AVN. “I went in completely the opposite direction: Every single scene is a stand-alone. I did it because I’ve been going on the forums a lot for the past year and a half, two years, and seeing everything that the fans really want to see, so I’ve taken a little bit of this, a little of that, a little bit of this, a little that and it’s kind of a conglomerate of all that. Some scenes are POV-ish; other scenes are voyeuristic; other scenes are complete out-there fantasies—like Kimberly Kane’s was like blown-out white, really high-key color, really beautiful. It’s such a gorgeous job. She just carried it off so well and she was so perfect. And Ariella Ferrera—she did an amazing scene for us in a shower.”
Also in the cast are some long-time Monet favorites—Dyanna Lauren, Julia Ann, Marie Luv, Jada Fire—as well as popular faces in adult like Evie Delatosso, Andy San Dimas, Celeste Star, Jessica Bangkok and Bobbi Starr, plus some brand-new talent, Annabelle Lee and Wendy Breeze, with whom Monet had recently worked on-screen.
Monet is a strong director, telling each actress exactly what types of action she wants to see on camera, but allowing the woman move freely around the set and letting her set her own pace, taking as long as she wants to reach orgasm.
AVN was able to visit the set briefly, just long enough to see Celeste Star pleasure herself balancing atop a gray exercise ball, sitting in a chair, and against a living room wall, all the time furiously rubbing her clit and plunging her fingers into her pussy.
“The only person I could think of to head up the project was Melissa,” said Alexandra Taylor, Metro’s new special projects manager. “I just didn’t want to work with someone I hadn’t worked with before and I totally, completely trust her, and I knew that I could just put it in her hands and she would give me something amazing, and she’s given me even more than I thought she would—and oh my God, I feel like the luckiest person in the world.”
Blu Dreams 2 will appear first on Metro’s website, and the VOD version is currently scheduled to go up sometime in June. A DVD release is tentatively set for August.
