ONLINE LAWMAN BLASTS PORN, GAYS

Lee County Sheriff John McDougall's official Web site isn't just for law enforcement news - he's using the site to attack gays, abortion, feminists, atheists, and the American Civil Liberties Union.

The Associated Press says McDougall - who once tried to have rap star Ice-T arrested for sedition over his controversial "Cop Killer" - calls them "the diabolical forces of moral corruption" - and he goes on to attack porn, cyber-porn, Planned Parenthood, politicians, music videos, and the United Nations, among other targets.

"I wanted to get the message out there," McDougall told the Fort Myers News-Press Saturday. "As a nation, we're dissolving."

Florida's Attorney General's office hasn't commented yet on whether it was legal for McDougall to use the official Web site for his own political views. But the executive director of the Florida ACLU branch, Howard Simon, tells the AP McDougall needs to brush up on the protections American law affords.
