OH, BABIES!

It wasn't even a week after they were embarrassed by two human kidney auctions that eBay was forced to yank auctions for human babies off its popular online auction site.

Bids for an unborn child hit six figures on eBay, says the Associated Press, and the online auction house removed listings for three babies. eBay reportedly believes the listings were hoaxes, as also the earlier kidney auctions.

Bids for one of the children hit $109,100. One of the listings offered a boy due to be born later this month to two University of Chicago law school students, with a parallel offer of "intelligence scores of the parents" upon request, the AP says.

It's not known whether law enforcement is investigating - eBay isn't saying yet. But the company thinks the baby offerings were hoaxes taking a hint from the kidney auctions.
