VAN NUYS, Calif. - The newly revived Odyssey Group Video is replicating its new titles on red discs for security purposes, starting with the Sept. 18 release of Shane and Friends.
“There has been a lot of buzz about Shane and Friends, and when this happens the pirates come out in full force," said an OGV spokesman. "To help curb this, all of our replication will be done on red discs. The discs are [already] encoded to protect against piracy, but this will be a visual protection to both the retailer and the consumer. They will know they are getting only factory approved product.”
Shane and Friends is the first new production directed by Shane in three years. The disc features clips from Shane’s early work as well as a trailer for Shane and Friends Vol. 2 (scheduled for release in November.)
