ODBN, Inc. has announced that it will be offering the Adult Store Kiosk at the AVN Adult Entertainment Expo in January. The Kiosk will be an addition to its free in-store marketing services called the Adult Store Channel.
The Adult Store Kiosk is described by the company as a 17-inch, 19 x 6 LCD display, with a touch-screen sensor, MicroMac computer and UPC scanner. The database is remotely and regularly filled with the latest adult products on the market. It currently holds over 500 adult products and is growing every day.
The Kiosk is filled for each store by its inventory so that information about it is made available to users first. It offers an ability to scan the UPC code on the package and access a video about the product and read a description. A customer can also use the Kiosk to search by title, name, company, product type and genre or they can just browse by a category.
After any specific search, the Adult Store Kiosk then presents similar products. It presents products to customers in a hierarchy, starting with those being advertised on the store’s Adult Store Channel, then the store’s inventory and finally, all similar products, which the customer is able to order in the store.
“We want customers to use the Adult Store Kiosk not only to learn about the product they have in their hand or the one they are looking for – we want them to learn about other products that are similar as well," said Steve Fecske, president of ODBN. "The stores are willing to order products they don’t carry, just like Barnes and Noble. It is a way for them to enhance sales, customer loyalty and increase interest in other products. It’s a great fit with our Adult Store Channel."
ODBN currently operates the Adult Store Channel in 20 different stores. The Channel essentially is an in-store high definition channel that communicates and markets products to consumers at the point of purchase. It plays ads on large plasma screens deployed around the store.
The space on the Channel is sold out, whereas, all manufacturers can place their adult products in the Kiosks. They do it right from their desk top computers. The Kiosk’s database is unlimited and manufacturers anywhere, at any time may upload their products into it.
