Nude Aid 2011 to Benefit Sex & Culture Center Set for Feb. 5

SAN FRANCISCO—Way back in 2003, AVN covered a benefit for St. James Infirmary that was held at the Good Vibrations store on Polk Street—but times have changed even if many of the personnel haven't, and now Nude Aid, a similar fun-and-fundraiser created by veteran adult actress Dr. Annie Sprinkle for the Center for Sex & Culture (CSC) has been scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 5 at the Center's headquarters at 1519 Mission St.

Doors will open at 3 p.m., and the event, whose admission charge will be on a sliding scale from $20 to $40, will be hosted by Drs. Sprinkle and Carol Queen, both prime movers for the 2003 benefit. The event will feature dozens of artists and models making live erotic and fetish art before your very eyes, and will also mark the first CSC Photo Club group show and its first annual photography awards.

Admission entitles each guest to experience a spectacular erotic tableau vivant as artists make art on the spot, with live nude and fetish-clad models to inspire them. Each guest can choose a piece of art to take home, and may purchase additional tickets (also $20-$40) to trade for additional paintings, drawings, photos, sculptures, collages, or body prints. New this year will be a table with collage supplies and the center encourages participants to create Valentine art of their own.

The CSC's Photo Club will also be giving out $750 in prizes at the event, and attendees will get a chance to see what images the club has created over the past year.

Nude Aid continues to be the CSC's single most successful benefit. Donors, models, artists and special guests from Nude Aids past have included Leonard Nimoy, Annie Sprinkle, Nina Hartley, Sharon Mitchell, Candye Kane, Charles Gatewood, Eric Kroll, Candida Royalle, Winston Smith, Jonathan Solo, Scarlot Harlot, Ruby Pearl, Madison Young, Gloria Leonard, David Steinberg , Dorian Katz, and many more. Nude Aid's February 2011 full lineup will be announced soon.

Of course, one must be at least 18 years of age to enter, and tickets to the event may be purchased through Brown Paper Tickets. CSC has said that it can accept Visa, MasterCard and Discover for payments related to the event. For more information, go to the Center's website.
