Heads up, folks. We’re down to mere hours before Not the Ramones take the stage Saturday night, June 11, 2005, at the world famous Whisky A Go Go for Kurt Lockwood’s Porno-Palooza rock and roll juggernaut that is not to be missed. The evening marks the birthday of the beloved adult stud (and NTR singer/guitarist). Celebrity porn guests are scheduled to include the legendary Ron Jeremy, plus sizzling vixens Taylor Wane, Tera Patrick, and (just maybe) the Lady Herself, Jenna Jameson. But wait, there’s more! The stage will be bursting with XXX go-go dancing superstars like Gia Paloma, Joanna Angel, Charlie Lane, Shy Love, Brooklyn, and Venus.
“I’ve had more fun than I’ve had in years,” said Lockwood of the band’s prep for the gig. “ It’s been an extreme pleasure working out with these guys, though it’s been kind of bittersweet coming back to these songs. I played them a lot when I was touring as a guitarist with Dee Dee Ramone, and he was a friend of mine and he overdosed on heroin. I haven’t played a lot of these songs since we played together. There were little things here and there that Dee Dee would add that I find myself adding.
“Samantha Ryan and Monica Mayhem are on back-up vocals,” Lockwood continued, “ and we’re excited about the originals that we’ve got that are basically rock to strip to. We’ll have a lot of feature dancers and strippers out there; let’s just say we know our audience. And remember, all the money goes to charity.”
The band includes local mega-talents Frank Meyer (co-author of On the Road With the Ramones) and Bruce Duff from Sweet Justice on guitars, and AVN’s own (and ex-Richard Hell bandmate) Tim Connelly and Evil Ed on bass. Commemorative Not the Ramones logo t-shirts will be available at a mere $15 per, the Mofo Girls will be doing their sexy thang, and, if you purchase tickets from the RSVP hotline 818.998.0573 (using Amex, Visa or Master Card) all proceeds go to charity.
