New Yorker Wins Cameo in Joanna Angel Video

A New York private banker has won an online contest to appear in a cameo role in a new Joanna Angel video.

Kimani Rogers, 31, was the winner of contest sponsored by Fleshbot.com, owned by Gawker Media and edited by John d’Addario, and also by Angel’s company, Burning Angel.

“I’m always getting asked by people ‘can I be in your movie?’ and things like that, but they always want to play like the pizza guy or somebody on the side, not to do a scene,” Angel said.

“So I just thought it would be fun to do something for this movie so I told John that I wanted to have a contest to get the winner to do a little cameo.”

The week-long contest began last week with Rogers selected from more than 200 entries on Saturday. Contestants were asked to write in 25 words or less why they wanted to be part of her latest movie.

“I read some of the entries and some people thought that it was a way of getting into porn. They’d write stuff like ‘I always wanted to do porn’ or ‘I love to fuck.’ But it’s just a cameo.”

Rogers’ winning entry was strange, Angel admitted, but said it was truly the best of the bunch.

“It was a little weird when I read it. He said ‘I was Jesus Christ in a past life and I want to have Kylie Kross’s babies.’ I thought it was admirable that he was a guy and that he said he wanted to have a baby,” she said, noting that Kross is also featured in the video, Joanna Angel’s Fuckin’ Guide to Fuckin.

When Rogers arrived on the set Saturday at a New York location, he was asked to play a student who walks into a classroom and asks “Excuse me, is this the class on limb reattachment?” Upon hearing an answer he leaves.

“It was just a line, but I think he had fun doing that,” Angel said.

“We had a lot of extras in the movie so having the cameo worked perfect.”

The VCA-produced video features Angel, who also wrote and directs the movie. She plays a sex ed teacher whose slacker students have a difficult time paying attention to the lessons.

“So I tell them that the student with the highest grade gets to practice what they learned on me. It’s kind of crazy, but it’s funny,” she said.

The video is scheduled for release in late summer.
