New Video E-Messaging Service Launched

You'll be able to send video messages over cell phones on a new service being pushed by T-Mobile USA.

T-Mobile said March 27 that the service will carry over the Nokia 3650 color videophone. A company spokesperson told CNET.com the service lets users record a 10-second audio and video clip and send it as an e-mail attachment.

The good news: The service is a mere $2.99 per month subscription. The bad news: The videophone costs $299. The small detail: You'll only be allowed 10 videos or 30 photos transmitted per month through the service, and there’s an additional fee each month for voice services, CNET.com said.

T-Mobile isn't exactly the only company offering video messaging, but a company spokesman told CNET.com that T-Mobile can offer audio with the video because its deal with Nokia let T-Mobile install the necessary special software.
