DVSX contract director Guy Capo decided to get into the Adult industry to create a type of porn that was missing from the market – the type of porn he wanted to see.
“As a consumer, I got fed up with porn a long time ago,” Capo told AVN.com. “I was so sick of what pornography had to offer. I remember looking at a box and thinking, ‘This is what I was looking for.’ And then I’d get home and find out that I’d been fooled again.”
What he wanted was “the rough stuff done with class,” but by “rough” Capo means unbridled passion, not extreme sex positions and perversions.
“As far up the perversity scale as I go is a d.p.,” Capo said. “What I’m trying to do is capture raw energy. There’s something to be said about the visual perversity of a double anal or a double vag, but there’s something greater about being able to do less – and still carry off an equally intense scene.
“What I like to show is a sexual fantasy that could actually happen. You start working in more than two guys, and it loses its realistic edge for me – and that’s what where supposed to be about, creating a fantasy world where a guy can submerge himself.”
Capo believes he wasn’t the only one fed up with contemporary porn, and he realized that meant there was an untapped market.
“I remember thinking that someone’s going to get their shit together and make a lot of money on it, and if I’m not in on it I’m going to be pissed off.“
With that in mind, Capo scraped together the funds to shoot a 15-minute demo tape, including a segment of Capo pitching himself as a director for hire, then sent the demo tape to six companies.
Extreme Associates liked the demo enough to hire him, encouraging Capo to move from Dayton just eight weeks before their offices were raided as part of an obscenity investigation. “Talk about an introduction to the industry. That was crazy,” Capo said.
After the raid, Capo bounced around for a short while before landing at DVSX, signing an exclusive directing contract with the gonzo company last month.
“DVSX is great for me because they allow me to add more production value. Some of the visions that I’ve had all along translate much better with the support that DVSX provides me,” Capo said.
So far, Capo has been great for DVSX. His first series for the company, Gothsend, was an Editor’s Choice in the November issue of AVN, and Capo feels the debut volume of his new series, Grudgefuck , is just as good if not better.
“The delivery is the cleanest and slickest that I’ve done so far,” Capo said of Grudgefuck. “It will satisfy those who like a little story with their sex as well as the straight-up raincoater. It’s the most efficient video I’ve made.”
A grudge fuck, of course, is spite-driven sex, or, as Capo describes it, “make-up sex without the making up.”
Each scene in Grudgefuck is a vignette with a storyline that has its own extrapolation of what a grudge fuck is. In some of the vignettes the male performer is the one seeking to address a grudge – in others, it is the woman.
Grudgefuck is in stores now.
