After over a decade of producing CD-ROMs and DVDs using content derived from other companies, New Machine has launched Hardline Studios and New Empire to create original content.rnrn
Hardline Studios, which will specialize in gonzo and pro-am tapes, will release its first two titles early next month. rnrn
"Being that we cut our teeth with Randy West and Ed Powers, we feel that New Machine is one of the stronger DVD companies with pro-am and gonzo, so we've already reached that market and now we want to provide them with new and harder edged material," David Gross, vice-president of operations for New Machine, told AVN.com.rnrn
Gross anticipates having four directors, each creating one tape a month, allowing Hardline to release one title a week. Eli Cross, who directs the series Wet, Inc. for the new studio, and Alex Saunders, who directs The Younger The Better, are Hardline's rollout directors. The debut volumes of both series will be released as day-and-dates on February 10. rnrn
New Empire will create interactive DVDs. The first title, Maximum Sex With Nikita Denise, will be released February 17. The second, Virtual Sex Shooter, will be released on February 27 and will feature AVN Hall of Famer Nina Hartley. "Our interactive DVDs will have all the bells and whistles," attested Gross.rnrn
New Machine will continue to create DVDs utilizing the catalogs of both Randy West and Ed Powers.
