Naughty Allie: Ready for the Next Phase of the Amateur Niche

Naughty Allie is, indeed, a person. The sexy blonde has been ubiquitous of late, making quite a splash across the Adult Internet. But Jake and Allie, the creative duo behind NaughtyAllie.com, have plans to take Naughty Allie – the business and the brand – to the next level.

If each content niche is a sea unto itself then ‘Amateur Girl’ isn’t lacking for ships navigating its mighty waters. Basically, it’s crowded, and needless to say, competitive.

“I would narrow the description by saying ours is a ‘hardcore personality-based amateur site,’” says Jake, Allie’s husband and business partner.

Launched in April 2003, NaughtyAllie.com presented itself as much a window into Allie and Jake’s personal relationship as it was a promising business endeavor.

“We’re married but we have an open relationship that involves fucking other people,” says Jake, candidly. “When we meet people that share our lifestyle philosophies we often end up taking photos and videos of our encounters for the site.”

Jake said he and Allie don’t consider themselves Adult performers, but, rather “real people fucking for the pure enjoyment of it and a camera just happens to be present to capture it for the site. We’re everyday people that you could conceivably run into at the grocery store.”

All grocery stores should be so lucky to have clientele like Allie. But it’s that voyeuristic perception, which helps bolster the premise of the site. Forgoing smoke and mirrors, their approach is simple: a couple sharing real life sex stories with anyone who’s interested and has an Internet connection.

“There are no paid models, no scripts, and no professional production; just real people having real sex,” says Allie. “I like to say it’s homemade porn at its very finest.”

Prior to NaughtyAllie.com, the twosome dabbled in promoting live cam sites. With a knack for marketing and a lifestyle conducive to Adult content, Allie proposed they shift focus from promoting other sponsors, and instead build their own pay site and affiliate program. After discussing whether to allow the world into their sexual escapades, NaughtyAllie.com and NaughtyBank.com were born.

With a plan in motion, they noticed the large number of soon-to-be competing amateur sites. Jake realized most were corporate-run, featuring paid models having no involvement with the day-to-day operation of the site itself.

“There only seemed to be a small handful of genuine amateur sites,” says Jake, “a site where the model is actually the webmaster and responsible for the day-to-day operations as well as maintaining a high level of personal interaction with her members.”

If the thinking was that a customer is searching for true personal interaction, Jake figured the niche was under-served. “If they find the personal interaction isn’t there,” says Jake, “then they won’t be staying very long.”

For Naughty Allie, it seems people are coming and staying.

“Our focus on customer service and our attention to detail have enabled us to offer our members a consistently superior product,” says Allie. “I’d feel pretty safe saying that my site offers a higher level of personal interaction than any other site on the Web. This is what makes my site so popular with my members and it’s the reason they remain members for a very long time.”

The products of which she speaks include five live cam shows weekly, 24/7 streaming voyeur cams in their home, personal response to email within 24 hours, a daily journal, and member requests for photo/video shoots.

Available to members and affiliates literally ‘round the clock via email, ICQ, or telephone, Jake figures just about anyone who’s been in the business can relate to having problems getting in touch with a sponsor and having email/voice mail go unanswered. “Our goal is to ensure that everything is functioning 100 percent at all times,” he says.

Allie notes that they evaluate every potential product or process before putting it on the site or into practice. “The photo content consists only of high quality images that have been hand selected and edited by me,” says Allie, who also pens an erotic story accompanying the photographs. “This may seem like a basic concept but I’ve been to numerous sites where you can tell the webmaster purchased a set of photos from a content provider and just threw them up on the site without even bothering to sort out the images nobody wants to see.”

That work ethic has paid off.

“The final result,” says Jake, “is a high-quality product that has enabled us to maintain our recurring members far beyond industry standards, and, in fact, a number of them have been rebilling since the very first month we launched the site.”

Even with the attention to detail, what cannot be overlooked is the sex appeal and charm (okay, and incredible body) of Allie. She’s billed as the girl next door, certainly not a new marketing ploy, but in this case the moniker fits nicely.

“Most of our content is simply Jake and I having sex with our friends,” says Allie, who, after graduating from college, worked in the marketing department of a mainstream Internet startup where she met Jake, who was the COO. “Taking requests from our members has really helped us to accumulate a very wide variety of content, and, at the same, time fulfill a lot of my own sexual fantasies.”

It’s the cam show where she really gives her members the VIP treatment.

“It’s a great opportunity for me to personally interact with my members and, most importantly, my members get to see that I am a real person,” says Allie. “I know that the interaction with members retains them longer, and since I enjoy the shows so much it’s really a win-win situation.”

But she admits to being apprehensive at first when preparing for the live shows. “Not only were there hundreds of guys in the chat room all watching me,” says Allie, “they each wanted me to do something different for them. If I would have considered doing half of what they were requesting, I’d have ended up with one foot behind my head, the other with a toe up my ass, and three dildos stuffed in my pussy as I pissed in a shoe, all while standing on my head.”

Allie’s since learned to keep everyone entertained, but on her terms. All told, she’s been doing five live cam shows a week for 18 months. “It’s like I’ve developed a ‘Naughty Allie’ community,” she says, “and I consider these guys and girls my friends, which makes my shows a lot of fun.”

Still, super content notwithstanding, it’s a jam-packed Adult market, requiring strategies to keep the brand name highly visible.

“My marketing motto is ‘test, test, test, and then test some more,’” says Jake, who spent 14 years in the Marine Corps. “Test market yourself in every conceivable place at every possible opportunity.”

Jake realizes the industry is often about not following “conventional wisdom,” as some of his most successful marketing campaigns have been when he said, “What the hell, let’s give this a shot and see what happens.”

Given Allie’s popularity, there exists the lure of turning professional. Though, it seems, she has no intention of abandoning her amateur status.

“My site attracts members because I’m just a girl that likes to share her sexual experiences,” says Allie. “If my members found that I was in a professional Adult film, I think they’d see it as ‘selling out.’ They know I’m an everyday person, and that’s what they were looking for when they joined; they know that I’m married and that the site is a way for me to share my sex life online. Naughty Allie will always remain an amateur.”

That said, it’s imperative for Jake and Allie to keep their thumb on the pulse of the webmaster community. They point to their three years marketing sites for others as useful experience. “That gave us a pretty good idea of what webmasters need to successfully promote a site,” says Jake.”

Allie mentions their participation on adult webmaster boards and attendance of industry trade shows. “The shows are great because we are able to meet face to face with webmasters who are promoting our site,’ says Allie. “Just like any other business, networking is critical.”

The affiliate program, NaughtyBank.com, is where Jake focuses most of his attention, while Allie handles the daily operation of NaughtyAllie.com.

Their goal is to get webmasters whatever they need to promote Naughty Allie. “That applies to all our webmasters, whether they’re sending one join a month or 100 joins a day,” says Jake. “We consider our webmasters to be our business partners and we treat them as such.”

Presently Naughty Bank offers hundreds of hosted galleries with pre-made thumbs and descriptions, downloadable content zips, FPA’s, and banners. All content is exclusive in order to offer promotional material that isn’t over saturated.

Jake said being a smaller program allows them the flexibility to service individual needs of webmasters. And service they do. Allie says they spend 14-hour days, seven days a week, working on the sites.

Amidst the hard work, Allie remains amazed at how many people are interested in the site. “It’s so cool,” she says, “that people from all over the world want to be a part of it all.”

Including couples. “I think they’re attracted to the site because they may fantasize about sharing the type of lifestyle that Jake and I have,” says Allie, “but they’re not quite ready to make the move in real life.”

Jake and Allie are primed for a big 2005.

“For the first time, we’ll have had the site operating for the entire year previous,” says Jake, “which translates to a hell of a lot of recurring members next year.”

Long-term, Jake says they’ll continue to look at opportunities from the perspective of how it could be applied to their business model.

Allie remarks they’ll continue to aggressively brand the site/program – though at a steady pace. “We want webmasters to know that Naughty Bank is a trusted sponsor program that will be extremely productive for them,” she says. “We want consumers to know the name Naughty Allie.”

If they don’t already, they will soon.
