NationalNet Expands Data Center

Web hosting company NationalNet announced the acquisition of the former Genuity Data Center, boosting their total north of 15,000 square feet of built-out data center space housing their customers.

The Carrier-Grade, Class-A, data center is a state-of-the-art facility. It has more than 10,000 square feet of space for server racks and dual AC/DC power plants.

“Genuity spared no expense when building out this data center,” said Bill VanVorst, Executive Vice President for NationalNet. “From the power, to the fire suppression, to the environmentals, everything was built to sustain any eventuality.”

The center also has a state-of-the-art fire suppression system, fully redundant heavy duty HVAC Systems throughout, human access points at the building level, the elevator level and the floor level, and generators connected to a 5,000 gallon tank that could power the facility indefinitely if there were a catastrophic failure in the local power grid.

The deal has been in the works for nearly a year, beginning after Genuity was purchased by Level3, according to NationalNet president Tony Morgan.

“This single transaction propels NationalNet to a level shared with very few hosting companies and dominated by the large carriers,” he said.
