Falcon Studios has signed a deal with NakedSword.com to stream new and recent Falcon video and film titles online, after doing a limited-volume tryout over a few months.
The deal involves twenty new or recent Falcon titles streamed on NakedSword each week, NakedSword said in an announcement.
Falcon vice president and chief operating officer Todd Montgomery told AVN.com October 3 that it came down to NakedSword, in Falcon's view, knowing best the studio's core constituency.
"When we looked at various other (Websites), and we considered NakedSword's core is streaming content to our core demographic, while most of the other providers really are a blend of straight and gay, I just felt NakedSword had a better understanding of what we wanted in reaching our core market," he said.
Montgomery said the limited-volume tryout, which he called a pilot program, had been in place when he joined Falcon, and the existing relationship between Falcon and NakedSword factored strongly in the final workout of the deal. And it didn't hurt that NakedSword was willing to give Falcon stronger onsite brand representation, he added.
"They had a limited number of titles and we expanded the number," Montgomery said. "And once concession (they made) is that Falcon will have significant brand presence throughout all their sites. For access to our content, they made some concessions related to how they represent our brand onsite.
"They looked wonderful," Montgomery continued, "and we approved it. Most important, from our perspective, is the consumer experience, the quality of the content streamed, and the way the brand is represented. And, basically, for the way our brand is represented by a third party, we felt at the end of the day that they were the best to represent brand integrity."
NakedSword president Tim Valenti enthused about the deal as well. "They've been with us every step of the way," he said in a statement announcing the deal, "and we're really proud to have reached this level of trust with them." The deal was finalized, he added, just as NakedSword was nominated for a Best Pay Per View Award by Cybersocket.
Falcon, meanwhile, has launched its revamped Website, with easier navigation and what Montgomery called "more compelling" presentation, the two things they most wanted to get with the revamp. He said they plan to roll out more services in the coming weeks, including more streaming media and a frequent shopper program, plus a revamped membership side which will launch in December.
