NakedSword.com Searches For "Wet Palms" Lead

Following six months of development and three months of casting, Jet Set Productions and NakedSword.com announced they are ready to begin shooting Wet Palms, their first hardcore gay soap opera. The only problem is that they're missing their leading man.

The lead role in the serial is a character named Lucky, a role that has been harder to cast than the Wet Palms team anticipated.

"Lucky needs to possess both innocence and street smarts – a sexual James Dean," said NakedSword.com president and Wet Palms co-producer Tim Valenti. "The character is young, but not naïve. Ideally, we're looking for a fresh look to compliment and exemplify the tone of the soap."

"I liken the search process to Gone With The Wind's David O. Selznick's search for his Scarlett O'Hara," Jet Set president Brett Drysdale added. "We've got a great cast – but we're still hoping for that elusive, perfect lead."

The cast for the first three episodes includes Rob Romoni, Ethan Marc, Cody Cash, Rod Barry, Brad Benton, and Bret Wolfe, all of whom have recurring roles. Additionally, JasonCurious.com Webmaster and personality Jason Secrest will have a recurring role as himself – "a nosy porn gossip with an eye for talent" – and Michael Soldier will be a special guest, playing malevolent mogul Simon Boltorn.

The series follows the residents of the fictional Wet Palms (based on and filmed at the San Vicente Inn in West Hollywood) in their search for seduction, success, and revenge.

The Wet Palms team – producers Valenti and Drysdale, scribes Michael Stabile and Jack Shamama, director Matthew Moore – will begin filming at the end of July.

Wet Palms will premiere on the web as a DRM download. Episodes will be packaged by Marina Pacific and distributed on DVD.
