NakedSword, <I>Playgirl</I> Launch PlaygirlOnDemand

Top adult VOD provider NakedSword.com has partnered with Trans Digital Media, publisher of Playgirl Magazine to launch PlaygirlOnDemand.com. The innovative VOD site will cater to rising demand by Playgirl readers for video content.

PlaygirlOnDemand.com utilizes the technological and design prowess of NakedSword.com while providing Playgirl with a platform to move its brand online. The pay-per-view and membership site will be available through the magazine’s main website, PlaygirlTV.com and will feature solo videos of masculine men from top producers like Falcon and COLT.

“Women enjoy adult content just as much as men, but few production companies have been willing to create content for the female consumer,” says Tim Valenti, President of NakedSword.com. “We identified and had feedback from female consumers on our properties for years, but the taboos surrounding women and porn consumption have limited NakedSword’s ability to provide for them. The launch of the PlaygirlOnDemand.com site allows us to better target these consumers with a brand they are comfortable with, and take our consumer base beyond rigid notions of gay and straight.”

Michael Stabile, Director of Marketing for NakedSword.com and editor of GayPornBlog.com says he often hears from women who are stymied by the lack of content directed at them.

“They often ask questions about whether it’s appropriate for them to be on the site at all, let alone enjoying the content,” says Stabile. “There’s not a cultural narrative for women consuming porn so they feel like they may be violating an unwritten code by enjoying the same content as men do.”

Through dedicated ads in the print magazine and on the Playgirl website, NakedSword will be able to reach a vast new consumer base. Women make up the vast majority of Playgirl’s readership.

“NakedSword.com has the vision and drive to help the Playgirl brand mature online,” says Valenti. “We’re very excited about the launch.”
