If you're looking for an upscale caterer for your party, and you're either slightly naughty or you just want to impress your friends or clients with how risque you can be, Naked Catering may just be the place to call — that is, if one can judge from the excellent spread Chef Pieps LeBreton put on at the company's debut party Friday night.
Held in an upscale four-storey house just a few feet from Venice Beach, Chef Pieps (as he prefers to be called) provided some of the classiest finger-food we've had the pleasure of sampling for his 300 guests, all of it served by a bevy of body-painted babes wearing black tie-and-tails outfits — except that the tails (and the "coat" to which they're attached) were painted on, allowing guests to stare (politely, of course) at the gals' perky paint-covered nipples.
Chef Pieps and associates certainly went all out for this gala, even to the point of arranging a few circus-style acts — juggling, fire-eating, acrobatics — for their guests' amusement. The house, besides the decorative photos and paintings covering the walls, was itself a work of art, with a spiral staircase, fully-planted atrium and indoor balconies. We didn't spot any movie stars in attendance — though we originally met him on a Simon Wolf set, Pieps does ply his trade on both sides of the hill — but there seemed to be a decent share of Hollywood bigwigs, several of whom were seen waiting for the chocolate fountain to get up and running so they could dunk their skewers of fruit and marshmallows in the drippings.
As the evening progressed, the house got very crowded, leaving barely enough room in the foyer for the masseuse to set up her massage table, so we figured it was time to exit, as yet more invitees streamed through the door.
Naked Catering's promotional material notes that it "serves entertainment industry wrap parties, holiday parties, theme parties, corporate events and private celebrations," and cautions, "Now is the time to plan ahead for your gala event with your choice of cuisine and entertainment." All we can say is, these folks certainly seem to know what they're doing and how to put on a good show.
