NO GOING DOWN UNDER FOR IRANIAN PORN STAR

Iranian porn actress Fatemeh Maradgholi has been refused an Australian protection visa Wednesday in spite of her fears of persecution in Iran because of her roles in X-rated films.

Moradgholi told Australian authorities she feared persecution because of her involvement in pornography and adultery, as well as a previous record for "counterrevolutionary activity," according to Reuters.

The Federal Court in Sydney upheld a previous ruling by the Refugee Review Tribunal refusing the 42-year-old actress protection, because she had not been "hotly pursued" any more than other Iranians, Reuters says.

Moradgholi's "counterrevolutionary activity" is said to have included selling alcohol, having a sexual affair with a married man, renting out X-rated videos, and performing in X-rated videos - even though those performances involved mostly taking off her outer clothing but keeping her lingerie on and not touching anyone.

Reuters says she fled to Australia after her home was raided in September 1998 and videos she was renting out were found - including porn videos.
