N.Y. Hustler Club Forced to Take Down Billboard Ad

Officials at Larry Flynt’s Hustler Club today agreed to take down a billboard ad touting the club after local school officials complained that the ad could be seen by school children.

Jimmy Flynt, Hustler Entertainment president, said the club had nothing to do with the ad’s location and quickly agreed to take it down from a billboard along Interstate 495 in New Jersey.

“The billboard company mistakenly placed the ad near the school and there was some uproar about it, but we had nothing to do with it. But we agreed to have it taken down,” he said.

The billboard location was chosen by the billboard company based on the area’s high vehicle traffic and its visibility to business professionals entering New York City through the Lincoln Tunnel, Flynt said.

The ad touted the club’s new look after it underwent a major expansion, effectively doubling its size from 5,000 to 9,000 square feet.

The club is scheduled to celebrate its makeover with a grand opening celebration on March 17, featuring a number of celebrities, company officials and other guests, including Hustler founder Larry Flynt.

“It’s a big celebration for because in three years we went from being the number three club in New York to being the number one club,” said Jimmy Flynt, who is Larry’s brother.
