LOS ANGELES - The reality show "My Bare Lady 2: Open for Business" will premiere Saturday night at 10 on the Fox Reality network.
The eight-episode series features adult stars Sunny Leone, Veronica Rayne, Casey Parker, and Brooke Haven living together and competing in challenges designed to test their skills as businesswomen. Motivational coach Mike Mataraza guides the girls in their new roles as entrepreneurs.
"I've always been interested in business, so to get a chance to learn from Mike was cool," said Casey. "Plus, this gave me the chance to show that I can be sexy and smart at the same time!"
The season premiere shows the four stars beginning their training, as Mataraza is "shocked to learn just how much work he has ahead of him." Later episodes have the girls running a car wash, a furniture store, and a charity auction.
"I always speak my mind and you'll see a lot it on the show," said Rayne. "I think that's what people like about me. I never pull punches and I'm always honest. It really is going to be fun to watch; expect a lot of surprises!"
The reality TV gig is already generating mainstream publicity for its cast. A New York Daily News article on the series focused on Leone, mentioning her role in the Bollywood movie Pirates Blood, her Vivid Entertainment contract, and her new company SunLust Pictures. The article made note of Sunny's business acumen.
"Sunny is very, very smart," said Bob Boden, senior vice president of programming and production at the Fox Reality Channel. "When she came into our interview, we knew right away she was right for the show."
The first season of "My Bare Lady" showed porn stars Kirsten Price, Nautica Thorn, Sasha Knox, and Chanel St. James competing for the lead role in a London stage production of Romeo and Juliet. Price won the competition.
"I think most people find adult entertainment stars engaging," Boden said. "When we we did the focus group for the first series, we found women, by and large, were not at all turned off by the idea of putting them on the show. I think men and women find adult entertainment stars very interesting. It certainly is a unique occupation they have."
"My Bare Lady" is produced by UK-based Zig Zag Productions. Casting for the series was done in part at the 2008 AVN Adult Entertainment Expo. Among the stars who auditioned were Jenny Hendrix, Paola Rey, and Marie Luv.
