In an effort to increase the speed, ease and clarity of downloads, the folks at Skin Central have ditched the Real Media format in favor of Windows Media.
“The advantages of WMV over Real Media are numerous: Each clip’s resolution is clearer, the files are smaller, which means they'll load faster, and the vast majority of our members already use WMV regularly,” says Mr. Skin.
“See, not only am I always on the look-out for celebrity nudity, I’m also on the lookout to make sure that you have the best experience possible on the site that bears my name.”
MrSkin.com will continue to use the Quicktime format it has always employed.
However, as of Oct. 4, all the Real Media clips on MrSkin.com will be converted into the more popular and, Mr. Skin believes, more efficient Windows Media Viewer format.
