WEST HOLLYWOOD, Calif.—Adult star and author Mr. Marcus appears this evening at Sunset Blvd.'s Book Soup to sign copies of his instructional tome The Porn Star Guide to Great Sex.
Marcus told AVN he's approaching this event as a reinvigorating opportunity to help him push forward with his professional headway after the recent passing of his sister.
"My sister passed away a few weeks ago, and it kind of threatened to shut everything down," Marcus said. "But she'd been proud of what I've been accomplishing, so I need to do this. A book signing is just what I need to gauge what people think of the book, get feedback, keep the momentum moving forward.
"I look forward to getting out there and just talking with people and seeing what they think about the book," he continued. "I hope that a lot of people come out, because so far what I've gotten from people as feedback is that it's helped them out. I've gotten messages on Twitter and from my email, and they basically have all said, 'I read your book, great advice, thanks!' So it's a positive; amidst all the grief and the stuff that really can weigh you down, I know this is something that hopefully will uplift a little bit."
Book Soup is located at 8818 West Sunset Blvd. 90069. Marcus' signing begins at 7pm.
Marcus added that with his 40th birthday coming this Saturday, Sept. 4, he is putting together plans for a combination party and memorial fundraiser to help generate means of support for his sister's surviving children. Details will be provided when available.
