William Truett, the director known as Big Daddy Redd, has been arrested again at his West Philadelphia apartment, charged once again with using underage girls in his Big Daddy Redd's Hot Steamy Sex series. This was Truett's second arrest for, among other charges, child pornography. He was first arrested on February 10, coincident with raids on several Philadelphia area video stores where tapes in his series were seized.
This time, Truett has been charged with statutory sexual assault, indecent exposure, corrupting the morals of a minor and printing and distributing child pornography. All of the charges appear to stem from Truett's tape series, and police are said to be looking for several other suspects who allegedly appeared in the videos.
The charges center around two unnamed 14-year-old girls which Truett is alleged to have videotaped in "various stages of oral and vaginal sex," according to Sgt. Patrick Ghegan of the Philadelphia vice squad's "special victims" unit. The videotapes were reportedly shot in June, July and December of 1998.
At press time, Truett was being held in lieu of $100,000 bail.
