Montana Status Confirmed; Other Stars Either on Quarantine or Testing Negative; Seymore Butts Off the List

Here's how the screening/testing/quarantine processes shapes up with the information that Tony Montana tested HIV positive October 7.

AIM's Sharon Mitchell said Tony Montana's confirmatory test results were in Monday morning. Seymore Butts, originally considered to be a second generation performer on a list posted by Mitchell Friday, was taken off the suspect list Monday when it was learned that Butts was a cameraman, not a performer, in a scene involving Sabrina Johnson, Jade Marcella and Tice Bune. Johnson was on the list having worked with Montana September 3.

Johnson, ironically, was being touted in Atlantic City last week, as the star of Fleshtone Productions' Gang Bang2000. Company head Danny Carrelli says it may not be very likely that Johnson turns up HIV positive.

Carrelli says Johnson did a strictly oral sex scene with Montana on Sept. 3 - two days after she was tested for HIV last. She's apparently been tested since and the tests are being rushed for results.

"We'll know by the end of week for sure," Carrelli says. How did Johnson take the news? "She took it a lot better than I would have," Carrelli says. "I think she's going to be okay. Unless she was bleeding in her gums or her mouth, her risk was really, really minimal."

But Aurora, one of the female talent who also worked with Montana in September, is still on quarantine, according to Mitchell. "She's not supposed to be tested until October 15th, but for piece of mind, I tested her right away. The preliminary came back negative on Saturday," Mitchell said. "But she's on quarantine until the 15th." Mitchell says Obsession also cleared out. "I had the lab run special tests on Saturday," Mitchell says. "That means Dee cleared out." As of Friday, Dee, had been listed as second generation exposure to Obsession who had worked with Montana August 14.

Aurora's second generation exposures listed Ron Jeremy, Guy DiSilva, The Bogus Brothers, Kyle Phillips and Sean Michaels.

According to Mitchell, Jeremy clears out. "Ron worked with Aurora on Sept. 9th. She was exposed on Sept. 16th, so that clears him out," Mitchell said. Mitchell also said DiSilva tested negative Saturday. The Bogus Brothers, likewise, have cleared off. Kyle Phillips also cleared off Saturday. Michaels, who was at the ECVS show, was scheduled to come into AIM Monday.

Sabrina Johnson, the third female in the Montana nucleus, had an original second generation partners' list that included Mark Davis, Dick Nasty, Amanda Rae, Tice Bune, J.J. Michaels, Alex Sanders, John Strong, Brandon Iron and Seymore Butts. Mitchell said Butts' name should never have been on that list. "A classic piece of misinformation," she says. "Seymore Butts wasn't even in the scene. But Jade Marcella is added as of today because the scene was Jade, Sabrina Johnson and Tice Bune [shot 9/18]. Seymore was the cameraman.

"But here I went and made a list because I was working on some information that people gave me. And Seymore doesn't come here. I didn't have records to go by. I know it may not seem ethical, but it's easier for me to make a public apology than to have someone spread HIV. It was a judgment call I made."

Davis, according to Mitchell, cleared Saturday as did Dick Nasty. Amanda Rae cleared Friday; J.J. Michaels was given a bill of health Saturday. Tice Bune tested Monday, according to Mitchell, and his results will be in Wednesday. "Alex Sanders is probably okay, but he hasn't called in yet to let me know," Mitchell says. "He should be testing Tuesday. He goes to his own private doctor, but he's always with the program. We love him for that. I'm sure we can count on him for looking after himself." Tested last week, Strong, said Mitchell was tested as a precautionary measure. Though his preliminary came back negative, Strong will be on quarantine until October 20. Brandon Iron is holding out till his window period of October 20, Mitchell says.

Mitchell says many people were helpful in getting the list of names cleared. Mitchell says Montana, who will talk when he's ready, is taking it like a trouper despite hurtful comments. "But you remember what they did to our friend Mark?" says Mitchell. "They're all speculating about how he got it. Who the fuck cares? The man came in with pride and honor. He brought me his lists. He helped me track people down. He sat here all day, spoke with people. He never hid, never ran. He's been checking in every day. Human nature sucks sometimes."
